Pattana Golf Resort in Chonburi, approximately 45 minutes from Pattaya, is the 27-hole championship centerpiece of the expansive 400-acre Pattana Sports Resort complex. Located at 99/89 Moo 9, Khaokhunsong, Sriracha, Chonburi 20110, the course was designed by Gassan, opened in 2004, and renovated in 2014. Any two loops can be combined into an 18-hole routing of Par 72 or 73, stretching from 7,111 to 7,325 yards from the blue tees. Andreas is the longest and most muscular nine, balancing scoring opportunities with demanding par 4s; Brookei moves through large lakes and exposed wind corridors; and Calypso introduces tighter angles and dramatically contoured putting surfaces. Strategic doglegs, elevated approaches, deep bunkers, abundant water, and tiered greens reward confident positioning rather than speculative power. Bermuda Tifway 419 fairways provide firm playing surfaces, while Bermuda TifEagle greens deliver fast pace and pronounced movement.

Pattana’s celebrated long-hole story begins at the 663-yard fifth on Andreas, an extraordinary par 6 that advances towards a water-protected green and demands three committed shots or disciplined lay-ups. The 626-yard ninth on Brookei was historically classified as Pattana’s second par 6 and remains a formidable closing par 5 on the current scorecard, climbing towards a partially obscured, bunker-guarded target. Brookei’s fifth adds a photogenic peninsula-green par 3, while the fiercely undulating ninth green on Calypso can turn a seemingly safe approach into a demanding two-putt challenge.

The course’s visual character is equally distinctive. Sculpted “grass volcano” mounds replace conventional bunkers around selected holes, peninsula greens project into the water, and a working helipad occupies a striking position within the main lake. Centerline trees influence trajectory, shaved run-offs punish imprecise approaches, and raised greens make distance control essential. During the afternoon, prevailing winds arriving from the Gulf of Thailand can add one or even two clubs to exposed shots, placing greater value on sensible tee selection and the local knowledge of Pattana’s experienced caddies.
